Caldwell's range of folding openers is the premier "Overcentre Camstay" in the UK. Produced from extruded aluminium they provide a secure catch facility with a strong and safe stay.

Generally designed for top hung open out windows they may also be fitted to bottom hung "Hopper" type windows and with variations available, are suitable for aluminium, PVC-U, timber and steel window profiles.

When required for high level operation, Caldwell provide pole operators in various sizes and dependant upon the width of the window, the folding openers can be fixed either singly, in a pair or as a triple.

Because of their strength, durability and ease of operation, folding openers are specified for schools, hospitals, offices, old peoples' homes and sheltered housing.
The standard opener will open a window to 165mm with the extended version opening to 315mm and all types can be adapted to be "lockable" and / or "releasable". All folding openers are available as standard AA15 silver anodised, and colour anodising or colour powder coated finishes are available to order.

Caldwell standard folding openers provide a window aperture opening of 100mm or 150mm and are available as a high level type to keep the operating eye within the fenestration line. For larger windows two or three openers can be linked simply using tandem bars to provide opening and closing from a single point using a pole hook.

Caldwell universal folding openers are particularly useful for bottom hung opening windows. The use of two operating eyes enables ease of opening/closing.

The innovative folding opener that folds sideways for use in corridors, stairways and areas where space is limited. Caldwell foldaside openers have particular and appropriate uses when folding openers are required at eye level, where blinds are fitted and within secondary glazing.

Where a larger, but still restricted window opening is required, Caldwell's extended folding openers provide a 315mm opening. The practicalities of design mean that this product is not suitable for high-level pole operation. Safety considerations require that a tandem bar be used to connect multiple folding openers, or if used singularly with the PE164 hand grip.

LOCKING
Locking folding openers prevent unauthorised opening by the use of a socket screw operated with an "Allen" key. When open the locking screw is retained in the arm by a washer. Caldwell locking folding openers provides cost effective enhanced security. Additionally bespoke locking requirements can be satisfied, where required.

RELEASABLE
Releasable option can be incorporated into all types of folding openers except foldaside. The release is obtained using an "Allen" key operated side mechanism. This releases the opener from the sash to allow cleaning and normal use of the window gear. TANDEM BAR OPERATION
All folding openers except foldaside can be connected in pairs or triples to provide a simple easy to use handle operation. Tandem bars should be used on all window sashes greater than 800mm wide

HIGH LEVEL OPERATOR
The new Caldwell High Level Operator (HLO) solves the problem of achieving increased ventilation with folding openers at transom level. In the past extended folding openers could not be used at high level as it was extremely difficult to close an open window with the pole operator. However, now with the all new HLO (Patent Applied For) closing extended folding openers fitted to windows above head height is now simple to achieve.
